WANTED – Java Developers / Resources

Posted by Geoff W on January 26, 2009 under Miscellaneous | Be the First to Comment

Hi Ralph,

I just thought I'd drop you a note to let you know that your email
came across as fairly abrasive and wouldn't have appealed to any good
Java developers I know for a few reasons:

1) Very good Java programmers are also usually also Python or Ruby
programmers, simply because languages like these are fantastically
more flexible than Java, and are capable of the similar (or more)
power while being much more concise. You just called these guys
script kiddies!

2) Questions like "think you know how to write code?" don't inspire
much confidence that the applicant's skills will be respected.

3) There's no description of your product, or specifics about funding.

Free advice, and I hope you're not offended.

Regards,
Geoff
