Members club to run my start up from…

Posted by joanne Burford on April 8, 2009 under Miscellaneous | Be the First to Comment

Hi Ronny

Thank you for your feedback. The reason we
have hidden the full service is that we want to keep track of who is visiting
us. Membership is not vetted but we do limit the number of members. A member of
our team contacts those interested to upgrade into a paying member, we
understand that £99 a month is an intelligent purchase and we respect people parting
with your hard earned cash.

Perhaps we could be more transparent –
we have nothing to hide! – but maybe we are being a little too complex
and I will have a meeting about simplicity.

The SEO and website management is not my
area but I appreciate your comments and will discuss these points with the web
team. I will send you a personal email to your address to discuss further.

Jo

Jo, style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Courier New"'>
I think one thing you could (and should) be
improving is to give more information on your site. For (most of) us
entrepreneurs, openness and honesty is key, and we tend to get annoyed if we
can't find the information we want within a minute or two. To put it bluntly,
your web sites give me a feeling of something being hidden.

For example, this is what happened after the first
email you sent to the list:

- I opened both sites
- Spent a couple of minutes trying to find the
information I was looking for (price, which clubs, any limitations)

- Concluded that it wasn't there
- Closed both of them
In other words, because of lack of information,
you turned an interested prospect into nothing.

I have a good friend who is an expert in turning
prospects into customers on the web. Personally, I think if done right, your
web sites can generate LOTS more genuine business than it does now. If you're
interested in improving this, please let me know, I'll be happy to refer him to
you.

Basically, If you can provide all the information
that was revealed in this thread straight on your website, that is a really
good start.

Ronny.

I totally understand and believe a lot of people on this group are in the same boat. When we have our "hub" in place for those looking for more than an entertaining space, I will announce it and hopefully hear back from you all. Timing - First week of May!

If anyone needs any more info on Limecard or E-factor - just let me know!

Hi Jo,

The offering is really great but for some very early startups (like
myself) paying £100 a month and not having unlimited access to at
least one club is quite a disadvantage.

When you get a couple of clubs to give unlimited access to
limecardholders it will be a no-brainer.

Good précis! Thank you. Yes, our membership was set up over 5 years
ago and built for client entertaining rather than a working "hub".
Times have changed and through our online community www.efactor.com
we have recognized people need somewhere to work. Yes, we are
talking with a number of suitable clubs worldwide and correct again,
it will be another 3 weeks until we have these finalized.

There is so much more to our membership that just the clubs, you get
amazing rates at hotels, golf, networking, VIP events, automotive
and all at pre-negotiated rates. Yes, we are running a promotion of
£50 a month for registered member upgrades and I would be happy to
offer this to people through this group.

To be a full E-factor member and to be a Limecard member is no
difference price wise (although we do have our promotion on)
however, one is for every area of your life - Limecard and one is
just for your business head - E-factor. Your choice - they are both
run through us but have varying areas.

Keep the questions coming, I work in marketing and rarely get this
level of interaction!!!!

I have called the limecard guys because I was quite confused about
their offering. It turns out that, as I was expecting, it was
slightly too good to be true. You can only access any given club 3
times a year. Above that they can negotiate special rates on your
behalf with a club you like. I think this is great if you are only
using it to meet clients but not if you are using it as an hub
They are apparently running a promo at £50 per month at the moment.

However they have e-factor which is more tailored to entrepreneurs
like us. It's the same £99/month , you get the same benefits as
Limecard but it is more tailored to entrepreneurs. The lady I was
speaking to told me that at the moment they are negotiating with a
few clubs to grant permanent access to the e-factor members. They
are talking with The hospital, Adam st and an other one I can't
remember the name and should finalize this partnership over the
coming month.
If this is the case I think it could be a great deal and I'll
probably go for it. So I am probably going to wait one month and see
if it really goes through. In the meantime I'll be haunting
Starbucks as usual:)

Jo, tell me if I am wrong?

Regards

Sam

Limecard seems that it could be a good fit for a lot of us, its a
shame
they hide so many details behind their registration wall.

On that note, just tried to register for the site, but if you try to
opt-out for their marketing the form throws an error!

To which clubs to they provide access in London? I know St James's

Also, is there a limit on how many times you can visit?

I work at Limecard www.limecard.co.uk - we have been working
with
private membership clubs on behalf of our members for over 5
years.
Your observations were spot on. Hence why we created our
membership
- why have one membership when you can have 10 - 20 for less
than a
year with one!? We know that different people are receptive to
different locations. One client will love the city vibe at Eight
but
on a summers day who wants to be stuck in a basement? Variety is
the
key to meeting a range of contacts for all areas of your
business.

Limecard now operate the UK office of E-Factor www.efactor.com a
membership built to support entrepreneurs and this is just one
of
those areas. Why not register for free and learn more.

Here are my thoughts on Sam Serra's question and I'd also like
to hear
people's opinions as I'd like to join a club to take clients too
and
to
network with media folk and other entrepreneurs. Am stuck
between
deciding
which of the below four clubs to join. If anyone has any input/
suggestions
please email me at [address removed], all input would be extremely
welcome.

I have visited most of the clubs mentioned. Here are my views on
them:

Hospital club was very large and slightly impersonal but a very
good
place
with great facilities.

Century club, had good facilities (not as good as hospital but
good -
especially a great terrace), met a lot media folk and it had a
good
atmosphere.

Adam Street, Met many entrepreneurs (majority early stage), felt
far
more
personal, good atmosphere and good range of events

Soho House has a great location (as I can see it from our
office), but
seemed to be fairly full during lunch. Unsure of events and
clientele.

Please send me your thoughts

Thanks and all the very best

Sam
