Hi Armel, it’s a
great idea but you do have to be careful. I don’t know your background so assume
that you are well-seasoned. However, allow me to share some ideas with
you.

 

I run a
twice-a-year Funding & Investment event that has been very successful but
getting the format right can be difficult. We are running another later this

As I have
worked with the games industry for some time, I know many angel-type
investors who made their money from games and are looking for new areas for
investment and this helped make the event successful.

 

Concerns are:
Someone has to pay somewhere along the line to support the costs of running the
event (this is not cheap).

Those that will
pay are not necessarily those that you would want to be in your

Sponsorship spend
is down

VCs will
only give their time if they meet quality start-ups

 

If you then have
to go through a process of vetting start-ups you’re in the domain of the BBC
Innovation Lab type of event series. That is great, but costly – and who
pays?
