We
use Adil Mohammed ([address removed])

to do all our infrastructure. He’ll be able to set you up with a cloud
orientated model (e.g. Amazon web-services) which means your system will scale
automatically turning server instances on and off itself to ensure you pay the
minimum you need.

Adil is London-based and very active in the start-up community.
He’s currently organising www.launch48.com
an event for London-based start-up types.

Subject: [entrepreneur-1056] Hosting e-commerce with 24/7 support, replication,
clustering etc.

Hi,

We’ll shortly be launching a business management solution for art &
antique dealers and need to get the hosting side of things set up in
the next couple of weeks ( href="http://www.productiveit.co.uk/Products/Antiquity/antiquity.html"
target="_blank">http://www.productiveit.co.uk/Products/Antiquity/antiquity.html
).

The sites will include e-commerce and our solution will eventually
host many dealers sites, so I suspect will need replication and
clustering. This area is beyond our in-house knowledge and we
therefore require advice. Technical requirements are fairly simple:
Windows Server, MySQL 5, PHP5, AJAX.

We expect initial take up to be quite slow (as we have planned for a
slow launch) and demand therefore minimal in the early stages.
Nevertheless, we’ll need to know that 24/7 support will be available
should it be required.

Unsurprisingly, as a start-up, the budget is tight, so the pricing
needs to be competitive too! :)

Your recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards,

Chaim Bacon
